The Role You’ll ContributeThe customer service representative is the "first face" at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills and greatly contributes to the patient experience. Warmly greets and attends to patient/guest needs. Professionally handle stressful situations, while maintaining quality of work and excellent customer service. Review daily schedules, census reports, scans financial and medical documents into accounts, assists Registration as required and performs relief PBX operations. Helps keep lobby areas clean and attractive, greeting and helping patients and visitors find their way. Keeps guests/patients informed. Familiar with hospital services, people, locations and community in order to provide accurate assistance to guests/patients. Adheres to established policies and procedures. Physical demands include sitting or standing for extended periods, pushing wheelchairs, typing. This position also requires involvement in hospital performance improvement activities.

The Value You’ll Bring To The Team

• Warmly greets all patients and visitors coming into the lobby and determine proper patient type - provide accurate direction for patients and visitors. Use eye contact and appropriate gestures to show genuine care and concern.
• Completes accurate MPI/MRN search and selections in computer system (quick registration). Accurately and urgently enters information into computer system
• Assists with patient registration / check-in as needed or instructed.
• Collaborates with patients, physicians, visitors, multiple departments and Ancillary areas; keeps patients and families informed. Communicates with local institutions to assist patients in reaching correct destinations. Assists patients/visitors with inquiries regarding external and internal way finding.
• Collects proper co-pay's and patient portions at time of service. Is firm and persistent, but pleasant in carrying out the collection responsibility.

QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succee:High School Grad or Equiv 0 years experience

Knowledge And Experience Strongly Preferred

• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 27 wpm avg net typing speed; proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computers
• Multitask proficiently, using multiple computer systems, applications and technology
• 1 year minimum of customer service experience in similar role
• Excellent customer service and satisfaction skills, ensures quality service is delivered to external and internal customers
• Detail oriented, demonstrate problem solving skills, flexibility and adapts well to change
