I am looking to move into SF asap. I posted an ad on Craigslist, but the link doesn't seem to work, so I will repost it here. Please let me know if you or anyone you know has something that might work.
Thanks, Damon

30 yr old male and his dog (and 2 motorcycles) looking for a room in a shared house or an independent granny unit or the like. Willing to spend up to $900/mo+ if it’s really that good (preferably $600-$800). A fenced yard would be great, but can be worked around. A garage space would be excellent as well, just enough to fit 2 motorcycles – 1 used daily. Mellow and easygoing guy looking for the same in roommates. If interested please read on. . . . .
Hello, my name is Damon.
I am 30 years old, a native to the bay area, and looking for a place in San Francisco. I can spend up to $900/month if the place is right. Obviously I would like to spend less. I have a regular job and will not have trouble with the monthly rent. I can move-in as soon as possible or later if it’s worth waiting for.
Who I am: I am not vegetarian, but I do not eat any red meat, and very little of anything else. I can survive fine as a vege. I definitely lean more vege than meaty. You can eat whatever you want.
I am an easygoing person, who easily makes friends. My friends are as diverse as my interests. I love music – a lot – all sorts of stuff. I hardly watch any TV, if anything a movie once in awhile.
I do like to entertain. Not every night, or even often, but I want to know I can have the occasional friend(s) over with no issue. Sometimes just a friend or two for drinks and talk, or maybe a small BBQ, and the once a year party. I’m not a big partier, but I do like to go out and have a good time at a club or bar. I don’t drink much, rarely at home, but some days a beer is real nice after work. I want to be able to live my life freely within the household. I am conscious of others space and stuff. I am clean though not anal or OC. I would hope we could live harmoniously and independent. I would like my roommates to be my friends, in that we get along and can talk and interact comfortably, and maybe a have an occasional dinner or movie together, but I have my own healthy social life as well.
I have a dog. A German Shepherd named “Ziggy.” She is 7 years old. She is my good friend and we have been through a lot together. She looks quite intense and maybe intimidating, but she’s actually a total goofball. She was 1 year old when she arrived at a dog-training kennel I worked at as a trainer. The last 6 years we have had many roommates in a few different houses and I think she is missed more than me by most of them. She is very well behaved and respects boundaries. She is obedient, but also very independent. She is a confident dog, a good guard dog, she hardly ever barks, and gets along with all people and other dogs. If there is a safely gated yard with some protection from the elements (rain and sun) she can be a semi-outside dog. I would like to have her inside too. She does shed a bit, I will gladly do extra sweeping/vacuuming, etc to take care of that. I bathe and groom her often.
What and who I am looking for:
I am definitely open to the idea of a in-law unit, or whatever other variation of 1 bedroom/bathroom/kitchen (an apt, back unit of a house, or bottom floor unit. . .) If you have something like this and think I might fit, please let me know.
In a house/apt./space with roommates. Mid-20’s – late-30’s males or females. People who respect my stuff, my feelings, and my space, though a house with no boundaries and trust is always nice. Fun people, who know how to have a good time, though not out of control. People who enjoy going out and experiencing the city, or beyond. Don’t get me wrong I love a peaceful night at home on the couch too. Intelligent, thoughtful people who enjoy the simple things in addition to the obvious. Mellow, no-drama, but lively people.
I have a small house worth of furniture. 2 couches, dining table and chairs, entertainment system, most kitchenwares. I kept it all from my last house. If I don’t use or need it in this new space, I’ll sell them. Otherwise, what’s mine is the houses, and we’ll build from there.
I would really like to have a garage space, or space in a garage would work. It doesn’t have to be huge, but enough to fit two motorcycles. One is a classic Vespa, which is parked more than ridden (hope to change that in the city); the other is a large sport bike that is my daily commute vehicle. I’m not any sort of mechanic so I won’t have them all apart and taking up space, though it would be great to have enough space to do some minor work occasionally.
If you still have any questions after all this please do ask. If you have a place that sounds like it would work for me, please let me know. I am eager to be in the city, but I need the right place, not any place. . . .
Thanks for reading. Damon & Ziggy
