The Head of Quality Assurance (QA) / Senior Manager Quality Assurance (QA) in the fast food industry is responsible for overseeing and leading all quality assurance activities to ensure that products and services meet company standards and regulatory requirements. Your main responsibilities shall among others include the following: –
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement the QA strategy tailored to the fast food industry, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry best practices.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the QA team, fostering a culture of quality, food safety, and excellence.
- Collaborate with senior management to establish quality and safety objectives and performance metrics.
Food Safety and Quality Management:
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive food safety management system (FSMS) to comply with industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., HACCP).
- Oversee the development and implementation of quality assurance policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to fast food operations.
- Ensure rigorous quality control processes are in place for food preparation, handling, and storage.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant food safety regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g.: JAKIM, QMS, FSSC, GHP, local health and safety regulations).
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and assessments of food preparation areas, suppliers, and distribution processes.
- Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to address quality and safety issues.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for process optimization and risk mitigation.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to address quality challenges and improve overall performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with restaurant operations, supply chain, and product development teams to ensure quality and safety requirements are met.
- Provide guidance and support to restaurant managers, and other stakeholders on quality and food safety matters.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular quality reports and metrics to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas of concern.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping related to quality assurance activities, food safety audits, and compliance.
- Performs any other duties as entrusted by your General Manager or Head of Department and/or any other representative as assigned by the Management from the time to time
Requirements:
- Candidate must possesses at least Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Extensive experience in quality assurance roles within the food industry, with a strong track record of leading QA functions in a fast food environment.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety management systems, quality standards, and regulatory requirements specific to the fast food industry.
- Minimum 5 years and above experience in managing a team of QA personals in F&B or relevant industries
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in QA software and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge in computer usage, email, PowerPoint presentation, Excel data analysis, and report writing
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision and well-equipped with a multi-tasking ability and good team player
