In the tradition of many of his relatives, McKenna, of St. Paul, started chis career as an iron worker and joined the Iron Workers Local 512 in 1941.

He was elected to the union's executive board and served on the panel for many years before becomting the unit's business manager and financial -treasurer in 1960. Ruth was born in lowa on March 9, 1921 and attended Carleton College and lowa State. She is preceded in death by husband of 45 years, A. Harold Mork, M.D.; parents, Frank Bernard and Louisa Neu Nockels; and brothers, John, Frank and Paul. As a resident of Anoka for 41 years, Ruth was active as President of the Women's Club and Alter and Rosary Society St. Stephens Church, Volunteer Chairman of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, and Board member of Anoka Community Concerts, Anoka, MN.

She is survived by her sons, Peter wife, Susi of Los Altos Hills, CA, Michael wife Carol of Healdsburg, CA, Thomas wife Dona of Monterey, CA; daughters, Catherine Agee husband John of West St. Paul, Patricia Felts husband Mike of Pleasanton, CA; sister brother-in-law, Helen and John Moehn of Naples, FL; brother, Carl Nockels of Carroll, IA: and 11 loving grandchildren. Netties, a native of Detroit, MI, graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1972. Nettles came to Minnesota to attend Carleton College in Northfield, MN, and after graduating in 1976 began working at The Prudential in the Claim Division.

He was soon promoted to the position of supervisor, and later to Home Office Representative where he was responsible for claims investigation. In 1981, Nettles left The Prudential to attend the University of Minnesota Law School. He returned to The Prudential in 1984 as an attorney. In the same year he was promoted to Assistant Counsel, and in 1988 was promoted to Associate Counsel. Nettles coordinated and tutored the bar review course sponsored by the Minnesota Minority Lawyers Association and more recently volunteered with Person to Person.

He is survived by his partner, William Larson; parents, John Marie Nettles, Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, all of Detroit, MI: Iris Nettles, Barbara Rutland and Rosalyn Ervin; niece, Darlene Pamela Ervin; nephew, Grover Ervin; aunts, uncles, and many friends.
