JOHNS-The Apache County Board of Supervisors has approved a proposed addition to the county courthouse. Services of the architect for the building will be donated to the county by the Santa Fe Railroad Co. Money for the new $80,000 addition was appropriated during past years. No bond issue or new levy will be needed.

The new addition will include rooms for the county farm agent, a welfare office, an office for the board of supervisors and increased space for existing departments already the building. As soon as final plans are completed, construction will begin, according to Wallace Ashcroft, chairman of the board. Ashcroft said. "We have tried to save as much money as possible. I realize money is hard to come by, and I feel the same responsibility in spending public money as I do my own He said that conservative policies seem to please the residents the county.

He is James Giannangelo, 34. assistant recreation director at Wichita, Kan. He is to assume his duties here July 1.

The city council commended the work done by Marie Shale of the recreation and park department, who has been acting superintendent since last fall, when Supt. Charles J.
